A personal update from me, and why this circle matters now more than ever ❤️
Hi everyone,
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
I’ve been feeling a bit awful that it’s been a while since I set this caregiving circle up and I haven’t had the chance to post much. To be completely honest, the last 24 months have been an absolute storm, and the journey is far from over.
Two years ago, my now 83-year-old mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 aggressive colon cancer. We had a beautiful 6 months of remission, but sadly, over the last few months, the cancer has returned. At the same time, I am caring for my father, who is now in the final stages of Stage 4 Parkinson’s disease.
As you can imagine, my caregiving duties have ramped up tremendously. Trying to juggle everything has turned life into an emotional rollercoaster ride.
The whole reason I wanted to set this page up in the first place is because I wanted to create a safe, open space for caregivers—wherever you are and whatever your story is. I wanted us to have a place where we can share our stories, find the emotional support we need, and most importantly, know that **we are not on our own.**
I wanted to share my own current reality today to break the ice and let anyone in a similar situation know that you are not alone in the trenches.
I would love to hear from you. What is your caregiving story? How are you holding up this week? Let’s chat and support one another.
