We had the don't-rush-in conversation again this session. Same talk. Same result.
He charged in. Got in trouble. I couldn't help because I was dealing with my own mess.
At some point I realized something. I've explained why this is a bad idea more times than I can count. And he still does it. Not because he's not listening, but because he's 10 and the urge to go is bigger than the warning in his head.
So now when it happens, I give the speech once and then I just help him out of the mess. That's parenting some days.
