First Principles Thinking - Your First Framework Drops NOW
IT'S LIVE. 🎯
The first framework from Pillar 1: Decision Engine just dropped.
FIRST PRINCIPLES THINKING
This is the framework that:
Elon Musk used to build SpaceX (when everyone said reusable rockets were impossible)
Charlie Munger credits for making Berkshire Hathaway decisions
Helped Airbnb pivot from air mattresses to $100B company
It's how you break down complex problems to foundational truths and rebuild solutions from scratch.
QUICK NOTE:
I know this isn't Monday. 📅
The official schedule is: New framework every Monday.
But I wanted to give you a glimpse of what's coming.
Today: Pillar 1 & Pillar 2 drop + 1st Framework
Starting next Monday: We resume the regular weekly schedule (one framework per week, rotating through all 8 pillars)
For now, you get early access. Let's run it.
WHERE TO FIND IT:
📍 Go to Classroom
📖 Find "Pillar 1: Decision Engine"
⚡ Open "First Principles Thinking" lesson
WHAT'S INSIDE:
✅ The one-line truth (what this framework actually does)
✅ When to use it (specific situations where this works)
✅ 7 decision rules (IF-THEN-BECAUSE format - no fluff)
✅ Complete execution checklist (Today/Week/Month actions)
✅ Real business example (First Principles pivot with numbers)
✅ 7-day experiment (test this in YOUR business THIS WEEK)
✅ Common mistakes (what NOT to do)
✅ Related frameworks (how to stack this with others)
YOUR MISSION THIS WEEK:
Don't just read it. RUN IT.
1️⃣ READ the framework (20 minutes)
Pick the challenge you're facing right now.
2️⃣ RUN the 7-day experiment (this week)
The lesson includes a complete experiment template:
▸ Hypothesis: What you're testing
▸ Setup: How to prepare (Day 0)
▸ Daily actions: What to do Mon-Fri
▸ Measurement: How to track results
▸ Success criteria: What counts as success
3️⃣ POST your results (by Sunday)
Go to 🧪 Active Experiments
Use this template:
WEEK 1 EXPERIMENT: First Principles Thinking
Business context: [What you're building]
Challenge I applied it to: [Specific decision/problem]
Hypothesis: [What I was testing]
What I did: [Brief summary of the experiment]
Results:
▸ What changed: [Specific outcome]
▸ Data: [Numbers/evidence if any]
▸ Key insight: [The ONE thing I learned]
Would I use this again? [Yes/No + why]
WHY START WITH FIRST PRINCIPLES?
Because it's the meta-framework.
Most frameworks teach you WHAT to do.
First Principles teaches you HOW to think.
Once you can break any problem down to fundamental truths, every other framework becomes easier to apply.
It's the operating system. Everything else is an app.
REMEMBER:
This isn't a reading exercise.
The founder who runs a messy First Principles experiment this week will learn 10x more than the founder who reads it perfectly and does nothing.
Execution > Perfection.
QUESTIONS?

IMPORTANT
Once we close this framework, please log your final results and key learnings in the thread.
This is very important the data will be added to our playbook and later used to train GPT to provide personalized guidance for each of you.
Now go read it. Run the experiment. Post results Sunday.
First Principles Thinking. This week. Let's go. 🔥
