Soul Ties describe a bond. Soul mate describes a person. Soulmate is not mention in the Bible.
What if we searching or on the look out for the wrong thing ? Just a thought provoking conversation for us this morning.
A soul tie is an emotional, spiritual, or relational bond that connects two people. Soul ties can be healthy or unhealthy.
Healthy Soul Ties
These can develop through:
Marriage
Deep friendships
Family relationships
Mentorship and discipleship
Examples:
David and Jonathan shared a deep covenant friendship (1 Samuel 18:1).
Then we have ...a "soulmate"
Most people use it to describe:
A person they feel a deep connection.
Someone they believe is uniquely meant for them
A highly compatible romantic partner
Biblically, the focus is less on finding "the one" and more on choosing someone who:
Loves God
Displays godly character
Is committed to covenant love
Helps you grow spiritually
Examples of godly marriages include:
Ruth and Boaz
Priscilla and Aquila
Ask yourself. Does this relationship or bond draw me closer to God? Proverbs 4:23 above all else guard your heart because every you do flows from it.
