Diagnosed in 2019, I was and always have been an athlete. Then Osteosarcoma "Primary Bone Cancer" changed my life. Though some things didn't and those were the mental and physical fortitudes I built over the years of training martial arts, I believe it helped carry me through the mental, physical and some spiritual aspects of a difficult and dark time in my life. With things I still deal with today, this has a been a long and ongoing process over the past 5 years since my diagnosis. If I can just reach one person and leave them with a useful piece of information for their own experience, then my job here feels completed. Cancers are not created equally and everyone is dealt a different hand. I played mine the best I could with the support and tools I developed prior.
