My husband and I started watching this series on Genesis- the story of Adam and Eve-and it rocked me. Because I realized… I still face the same choice every single day.
I may not be standing in a garden, but I am still standing in front of an apple.
The apple might look like comfort.
It might look like approval.
It might look like money.
It might look like a relationship I know God already warned me about.
The enemy doesn’t force us to bite. He just whispers until the truth starts sounding optional.
And that’s what hit me -the people who will stand with Jesus at the end aren’t the ones who edited the Bible to fit their feelings. They’re the ones who obeyed it, even when it cost them comfort.
Just like God told Cain, He tells us: ‘Sin is crouching at your door - but you must rule over it.’
That means I still get to choose.
Every day.
And that’s what Jesus meant when He said, ‘Pick up your cross and follow Me.’ That’s not a one-time decision - that’s a daily surrender.
And here’s the part that gets me: Christmas is coming. And the world is screaming, ‘Buy this. Do that. You’ll feel better.’ But there is nothing in this world that can satisfy a soul that was made for God.
The apple still lies.
But the Word still leads.
And every day… I decide which voice I will follow.
