If you really want to know what a truth is
Tell a lie
Soon you will see
A truth show itself
Yes
It will creep up like a ninja
And take the other person out
No questions asked
Growing up
You're told that the truth
Shall set you free
But in reality
The truth
Hurts
You see
The truth can be as calm
As a summer breeze
But can easily
Turn into a tornado
Causing chaos wherever it goes
A truth can be a butterfly
Gentle
Peaceful
But without notice
Become as angry as a bear
Aggressive
Untamed
This thing called a truth
Will break grown men down to their knees
And make the warmest heart cold
It can held in your mind
Looking for an escape
Trying to find the right door to exit from
But sometimes
Like a secret
A person will take it to the grave
For they know
Deep inside
They don’t want to cause trouble
Or become a reason
A reason for sorrow
A reason for regret
A reason
For
Death
Maybe that’s why we tell a lie
A lie can give false hope
Yet protect
It can divert feelings
Without showing real emotions
To be honest
Want to know what a truth is?
I wish I could tell you
But it would just be a lie
