Self Reflection
We set standards and morals to live by,
reflections of who we are
and how we wish to be treated.
They shape us —
and to break or alter them
would change us forever.
We build barriers and form opinions
that guide us, yet sometimes restrict us.
They protect us and those we care about.
But to break them
would change how we are seen.
We set goals and milestones
to reach toward a better future,
to find purpose,
to grow and progress together.
And to abandon them
would forever change life's course.
