The creative life of my dreams
The creative life of my dreams definitely began in childhood. My dreams back then were vivid, enthusiastic, and deeply enjoyable. They felt alive, full of colour and movement, as if my imagination had no limits. One recurring dream stands out in particular: flying. I did not grow up reading comic books about superheroes, yet in my dreams I was unmistakably one of them.
I could fly effortlessly from the top of one building to another, without fear or strain. It felt so natural as though gravity simply did not apply to me. What I loved most was the sensation of being part of something bigger, fully connected to the universe. In those dreams, there was no separation between myself and what surrounded me.
I also had other exciting abilities. I could speak an unknown language with my buddies, and somehow we understood each other perfectly. Another gift was the capacity to continue the same dream over and over, picking up the story where I had left it. If I disliked the direction the narrative was taking, I could even change the ending. I was both the creator and the main character of my dream world.
As I grew older, I gradually lost this freedom. I slept less and recalled fewer dreams, unless they took the form of nightmares. At one point in my life, nightmares seemed to occupy all the space …
Nowadays, my dreams feel calmer and more peaceful. Through them, I sense that I can access my intuition, and at times it feels as though I am being taught something during the night. When I wake up, only fragments remain — a few words, symbols, or numbers. I truly believe that dream recall is a form of training: the more attention we give it, the more we remember, though it is something we often lose sight of as adults. Funnily enough, my husband has noticed patterns in my sleep — hearing me mumble convincingly or even chant almost like a dolphin. Knowing this brings me joy and helps me reconnect with a sense of childlike wonder.
