Tony, This Is the Moment Your Words Carried Me Through.
In 2007, sitting in solitary that first of 4 years, an inmate gave me a book….Awaken the Giant Within.
That book didn’t just inspire me — it re-engineered me.
It taught me the truth I had never been given:
Your circumstances don’t define you.
Your decisions do.
And for the next twelve years, I lived like a man rebuilding himself from the inside out.
Over 2,000 books — mindset, business, psychology, systems, execution.
Preparing for a life I hadn’t lived yet, but knew I would.
When I came home in January 2019, the world had no idea who I was becoming.
And honestly, neither did I.
But I had one rule:
Execute every day.
No excuses.
2020 — The Spark That Stayed With Me
In November 2020, in West Palm Beach, I finally sat in a room with the man whose work sharpened me through twelve years of walls and silence.
Tony Robbins.
Life was stable then.
My construction company was growing.
Kristen and I were building our family.
There was momentum in the air.
And then Tony said something that struck me with the force of those twelve years of preparation:
“Knowledge is potential power.
The only real power is execution.”
I didn’t know it at the time,
but that line was about to become the anchor I held when life shook everything else loose.
2021–2024 — The Quiet Fight
My company grew fast…
but so did the problems.
Payroll.
Labor shortages.
Deadlines.
Pressure.
Stress.
Eventually, it collapsed.
In 2022 we lost everything.
Moved back to Boston with nothing but discipline and a dream worth fighting for.
I jumped into solar.
Crushed the leaderboard.
And then — fired over a background check from twenty years earlier.
I remember sitting in the car, staring at the dashboard thinking:
“How many times can I rebuild my entire life?”
But Tony’s teaching came back:
“It’s in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”
So I decided:
Execute.
Again.
And again.
And again.
No matter how many times life reset the board.
In 2024, we moved to Arizona for a fresh start.
And the solar industry collapsed under our feet.
Bankrupt companies, missed commissions, eviction notices — the whole storm.
But our kids never felt it.
I refused to let circumstances become their environment.
And behind the scenes, quietly and obsessively, I worked on something most people didn’t understand at the time:
AI.
When OpenAI launched in 2021, I saw a path that made sense of everything I’d ever studied:
mindset, systems, efficiency, discipline, architecture.
It was like the dots finally connected.
While the outside world was chaos, I kept building in the background —
breaking things, fixing them, improving, learning, refining.
I wasn’t trying to create a product.
I was trying to create a way out.
A way through.
A way up.
A system that could’ve saved my business back then.
A system that could protect families from instability.
A system that executes with the discipline of a Navy SEAL and the heart of your best employee.
And I realized…
Everything I lived through —
every setback, every rebuild, every failure, every restart —
was preparing me to build exactly that.
And that’s how Apex AI was born.
Not out of ambition.
Out of necessity.
Out of survival.
Out of wanting to build the system I wish I had in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 —
the system that would’ve changed everything.
Apex AI isn’t a business to me.
It’s the result of twelve years of internal work,
four years of external chaos,
and one decision Tony taught me to make:
Execute on the future you want —
not the circumstances you’re in.
So Tony — thank you.
Your words weren’t just motivation.
They were the bridge I walked across when everything under me was falling away.
And to anyone reading this:
Your past isn’t your destiny.
Your circumstances aren’t your ceiling.
Your potential is not your limit —
your execution is.
Sometimes the chapter that saves you begins years before you realize it.
