There’s one prompt I use, that forces it to slow down and think…
Here’s the full prompt:
“Pause, review, and assess. Slow down your reasoning. Re-read the full request and confirm internal alignment before generating the response.”
What it does:
This command forces GPT to stop rushing and actually examine everything you wrote.
It performs an internal check, notices missing steps, and produces a more complete, accurate, and thoughtful output.
It kills sloppy answers instantly.
How to use it:
1. Give GPT your full instructions first.
2. Then add this line at the very end of your request—right before the model generates.
3. Use it anytime GPT is moving too fast, skipping steps, or giving surface-level reasoning.
4. Great for multi-layer tasks where precision matters.
This is your “slow the model down and think first” command.
