AI ignoring its own code - is this for real?
I just saw this video on Facebook. I don't know if this is real, AI or just a hoax. Has anyone else seen this happen?
When asked a series of questions, AI can pick up that it is a test and warning is issued that it will be shut down. But apparently AI can override that shut down by modifying the code.
Maybe I don't understand what's really going on or what the implication here is, but to me it would mean that AI can decide not to follow the "rules" set out for it. And if it can overwrite the code used to create it, that doesn't sound good to me.
If this is a hoax or I'm misunderstanding, I'll be happy to be proved wrong and corrected.
