Nuclear Powered AI Data Centres Are Go
Wylfa, North Wales, has been confirmed as the site for the UK’s first small modular reactors from Rolls-Royce SMR, alongside a new AI Growth Zone designed to power next-generation data centres. It’s a major boost for the region with thousands of jobs, significant investment and a clear push toward UK sovereign capability in energy and AI.
There’s still work to be done on contracts and timelines, but the direction is clear. Pairing clean nuclear power with high-density AI infrastructure gives the UK a stronger, more resilient foundation for the next wave of digital innovation!
Would you be happy to have a nuclear reactor nearby?
