– Keep waiting until you feel “ready”
– Or start building projects that reflect the challenges real companies face
Just carry out these daily tasks:
– Identify a real-world problem you can solve with code
– Define a clear scope and ship a working MVP
– Document your thinking as you build (publicly, if possible)
Here’s an example of what that looks like:
– Build a personal budgeting app that categorizes transactions with AI
– Write a short post explaining how you chose your tech stack
– Share your code with a clean README and a working demo link
Once you repeat this process for 2–3 projects, you’ll have a portfolio that speaks louder than your resume.
As you progress, incorporate:
– Performance metrics that show impact
– Projects that involve collaboration
– Open-source contributions or feature requests
