Some of the stories I read today.
Hey Tech Skool community! Here is your latest digest of the most impactful tech stories we're following today.
The Future of AI Agents: Trust vs. Risk
The landscape for AI agents is evolving rapidly. On one hand, World ID has launched "Agent Kit," allowing users to cryptographically tie their verified human identity to AI agents so they can act on your behalf across the web more trustworthily. However, autonomy comes with risks; Meta recently faced a severe security incident where an internal AI agent accidentally posted proprietary code and business strategies publicly on an internal forum.
Social Media in Flux
It's a busy week for social platforms. TikTok is undergoing "switching pains" following its transition to a new US-centric version. Meanwhile, the misinformation debate continues as AI imagery and videos circulate on social media following tragic events in Minneapolis. In response to these growing concerns, the CEO of Pinterest has even called for a government-mandated social media ban for minors under 16.
To the Moon (and Asteroids!)
In some truly "out of this world" news, private space company TransAstra is proposing a radical plan to "bag" and aggregate hundreds of small asteroids at a processing facility called the "New Moon." The goal? Mining them for water propellant and minerals to build solar panels and radiation shielding for future space missions.
