Today’s card invites us into the shadows… not to fear them, but to understand them.

In The Devil, we see a horned figure looming above two chained individuals. At first glance, it feels heavy—oppressive even. But look closer… the chains around their necks are loose. They could slip free at any time.

This is the heart of the card’s symbolism.

✨ The Devil represents illusion, attachment, and self-imposed limitation.

It speaks to the ways we bind ourselves—through fear, addiction, negative thought patterns, or beliefs that keep us small.

The inverted pentagram above the Devil’s head points to a disconnection from higher truth, a focus on the material over the spiritual. The torch held downward suggests misdirected energy—power used unconsciously rather than with intention.

And yet… there is awareness here.

The figures are not blindfolded. They see. Which means liberation is possible.
