A few years back, when I was very deep in my meditation journey, I always felt that Tantra is about opening the heart and about creating balance between the sex center, the Muladhara, and the heart, the Anahata. From there the energy can rise to the Sahasrara and beyond, into the cosmos.
The sex center is where everything begins, and the seventh center is where the energy merges into the infinite. In Tantra we call it the Dvadashantam, twelve fingers above the crown chakra, the center of existence, the seat of Shiva’s consciousness.
The heart is in the middle, and one of the most beautiful ways to open it is the path of devotion, Bhakti Marg. I always felt so much connection to the divine existence, to Shiva. That is how the mantra “Shiva Shiva Shambho” came to me.
It became a doorway, helping me to open the heart, take the energy to the third eye, and lift it to the cosmos. This mantra felt magical and powerful.
I shared this vision with our musician, Manish. He understood it deeply. We worked on several versions, but something was missing, until we found the right rhythm.
When it came, both of us felt an immense energy, a divine vibration. From there the manifestation happened.
I did not create the music, but I brought the feeling, the meditation, the inner vision. Our school supported the project, we brought in other musicians, vocalists, and instrumentalists.
Together, by the grace of existence and by the blessing of Shiva, this mantra became alive.
As the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra says:
“द्वादशान्ते मनोलीनः प्राणापान समौ हृदि।
युक्त्वा सर्वपदं ज्ञात्वा परं ब्रह्माधिगच्छति॥” (VBT 50)
When the mind is dissolved at the dvadashanta, when prana and apana are brought into balance within the heart, then, knowing all states of existence as one, the yogi attains the Supreme Brahman.
This is the essence of my connection to Shiva Shiva Shambho. It was not only a song, but a living meditation, born from devotion and shared through many hearts.
