"Should I create for myself, or for my audience?"
Here's why:
Create for yourself is obviously creating for yourself. You're creating what you'd love to consume. You're creating out of intrinsic motivation.
But "creating for your audience" is really just still creating for yourself. You believe that creating something that people want will get you views or money, which is what you want. So you're still creating for yourself! One could argue that even the primary drive for charity is to feel good.
Either way, you're probably creating for yourself. Find the overlap.
