The Zeigarnik Effect is named after Lithuanian-Soviet psychologist, Dr. Bluma Zeigarnik,
where she posits:
“Our minds quickly forget finished tasks. However, they are programmed to continually
interrupt us with reminders of unfinished tasks.” – Dr. Bluma Zeigarnik, 1927
There’s no biological advantage to remember finished tasks, however, it serves us well
to remember unfinished tasks.
Having unfinished tasks on our mind is a heavy cognitive load which zaps our energy,
When you have unfinished tasks, write it down, get it out of your head and schedule
it to be done later.
