I think I'm here to stay
Hello everyone! I connected through the videos on Hormozi. Fun fact: both him and Obsidian had become a top priority of mine over the last month! 🤩
My ability to focus - both skill and trait - is something in need of development, and I'm in the process of putting my own notes system of .txt/Notepad++/Dropbox into Obsidian. It remarkably already resembled it, using local simple text files, but lacking the connections and embedding. 🗄️
In my training in Clinical Psychology at the masters level with the opportunity to meet top researchers in person, I developed a highly skeptical view of the field, while noticing that there was a massive amount of value under a lot of jargon and in-fighting between models. 🤯
While trying to break that value open and focus on essentials, I came up with the notion that staying humble is key. I kept finding out what many other fields other than psychology could teach about relating to and helping people. The world of business and thinking in terms of solving entrepeneurial problems has been particularly relevant at this point. It involves the real world, real relationships. 🏗️
Then I have a particular way of being interested in classic philosophy, particularly Stoicism, in how it connects with deep anthropological insights about virtue, through the Catholic faith especially great interpreters of the classics such as Aquinas. There's a lot of juice there, if we can get past our views on belief and the Church themselves. 😇
For example, the principle that our minds are by very nature SYNTHETICAL and can only learn by combining things, first became clearly relevant to me through a Dominican on a conference/podcast. 💥
I've been recording myself and developing my speaking skills. I want to learn to create my own art, to draw better outlines of my thought and inspiring people through beauty and awe, not just information. 🖌️
Happy and grateful to be here!
