Baby steps... 7 members now lol
I pulled the trigger / ripped the bandaid!!!! Inspired by 's ~inhuman~ metabolism I mustered up the courage to do 47 very warm outreaches (lol baby steps please mercyy).
Andrew also mentioned in the call that another approach is to create a community named "Nattie's community" or sth first, get people in, THEN figure out what problems I can solve.
I think I want to take that path.
These folks I invited are my juniors in uni (ish) so I am 2-3 steps in front of them and have A LOT to share/can help for sure! (I just can't pinpoint exactly what yet lol - something that's "meaty" enough)
If we use the 6-step Mozi Process (lol):
❓ STEP 1: PICK WHAT YOU WANT THE COMMUNITY TO BE ABOUT
  • This one I am not clear (sigh) but I know I enjoy (a) self-development and (b) helping people (hence me getting into life coaching and stuff)
  • So that informed my "target audience" for Step 2...
✅ STEP 2: PICK WHO DO YOU WANT THE COMMUNITY TO BE FOR
  • People I have helped before! And I think they ARE underserved (so many Thai fresh grads = lost lol and I figured that out more or less so I can help)
❓ STEP 3: DESCRIBE THEM AS THEY SEE THEMSELVES &
❓ STEP 4: GOOD STUFF YOU HELP THEM GET + BAD STUFF YOU HELP THEM AVOID. BY JOINING YOUR COMMUNITY
❓ STEP 5: PUT IT TOGETHER
  • These I HOPE I will be able to articulate after interacting with the folks in the group
  • I also put up a membership question asking them what's their problems right now lol
I am seriously hoping this will shape up into a clearer value proposition for the community 🫠 (without that how to monetizeeeee hahaha. Can't do cold outreach too! I also have no idea on sales but trust that that's for next week's call 🙈 thanks again for guiding us~)
BUT: So far I have enjoyed writing content that already answers some of the members' questions. Already got feedback that they have been useful - like WOW this gave me so much fulfillment already so thank you guys for the push for me to start my own community. If y'all hesitating I'd say just do it haha even if it doesn't monetize (yet) you are providing value by bringing people tgt!
BUT2: Even though I am not monetizing / doing sales yet, I have been going through the Skool Games community and THERE ARE SO MANY GEMS - real advice from those who won. It's SUPER VALUABLE. Just wow.
My plan for now is: helping my current audience (= my juniors) -> figure out value prop -> repurpose group -> cold outreach -> monetize those new people (I am not sure I should monetize my cute juniors ya guys lolol... or at least I want to make it really worth it for them vs them being my guinea pig if you know what I mean? But could this be a limiting belief?? 🤔)
Feedback welcomed all 🥹
