Happy Saturday!
Just popping in real quick because... I had to share and Kiki (my dog) wasn't that interested!
This morning, before I even rolled out of bed, I made an extra $484.51.
Here’s the quick version:
✅ I switched my main credit card (the one I use and pay off every month) to one that gives me way better first-class travel perks. Thanks to a little trick I picked up after reading the book I like to call Champagne Travel on a Beer Budget 📚 I mentioned last week. ✅ I went to cancel my old card (because why pay a $99 fee for something I’m not using?), and they hit me with a $99 retention credit to keep it open. Score.
✅ Turns out, I still had 42,000 points sitting there — but cashing them out normally would’ve only gotten me about $210.
So I dug a little deeper 🧐.
Instead of settling for the lower payout, I found a Travel Statement Credit option where my points were worth double—plus a bonus! Two old travel purchases qualified just in time before they expired in 3 days.
End result?
$210 turned into $484.51.
And now it’s a little extra spending cash for my Savannah birthday weekend with my man! 🥂🎉
Moral of the story?
It’s not about getting the exact card I used. It’s about thinking differently — looking for ways to turn $1 into $2, $3, or even $4.
Small moves like this stack up fast — and you don’t have to work harder to make it happen.
Off to the soccer ⚽ fields where I pretend I know the rules.
Have an amazing weekend!
