Please Help Me Find People Looking for Compassionate Listening
As I slowly approach my 80th birthday, I find myself thinking more deeply about how I want to spend the time I still have. For decades, I have carried the quote:“To be the change I want to see in the world.”
Long before the Internet existed, I tried to live that way through teaching, counseling, caregiving, travel, and community work in many different places and cultures.
Now, living quietly in rural Ecuador, I feel increasingly drawn toward something both urgent and deeply meaningful: helping emotionally overwhelmed people regain their footing during difficult times.
For about a year, I have spent several days each week speaking with people from many walks of life who are trying to reclaim their lives without numbing emotional pain through alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, gambling, or other self-destructive behaviors.
More recently, I have watched many emotionally exhausted people — including those in recovery — struggle under the stress of rapid political, economic, and social change. I believe the coming years may become even more emotionally challenging for many people, and I would like to devote more of my remaining years to creating thoughtful spaces for emotional support, honest discussion, and recovery.
Because of that, I am temporarily stepping away from some other online activities in order to focus more fully on my YouTube channel and my free SKOOL community.
SKOOL with FREE multi-week LIVE meetings:https://www.skool.com/summerland-6126/about
Both are completely free. Summerland also accepts optional donations to help cover operating costs.
If my work resonates with you, I would deeply appreciate your support through a YouTube subscription, joining the SKOOL community, or simply sharing these spaces with others who may need them.
“There is only so much time in a day,” and I want to spend mine where I believe it may do the most good.
