Stop Living for Approval 🙌
Because the fastest way to stall your progress is to carry the weight of everyone else’s opinions.
We’ve all felt it. That quiet hesitation before you take a step toward your goal, not because you doubt the goal itself, but because you’re worried about what people might say. Will they laugh? Will they think you’re not good enough? Will they call you crazy for trying? The fear of judgment can be louder than the dream itself.
Here’s the truth: living for approval is a life sentence of delay. The people who succeed aren’t the ones who silence the critics. They’re the ones who learn to stop listening.
Why Opinions Hold You Back
Other people’s opinions aren’t the problem. It’s your attachment to them that slows you down.
When you chase validation, you start running in circles:
  • You hesitate when it’s time to act
  • You dilute your vision to make it “acceptable”
  • You waste energy proving yourself instead of building yourself
Chasing approval doesn’t get you closer to success. It just gets you stuck in someone else’s expectations.
The Danger of Waiting for Permission
Here’s the dangerous part: the longer you wait for everyone to approve of your path, the more likely you are to miss the opportunity entirely.
Approval says: “I’ll act when they believe in me.”
Perseverance says: “I’ll act until they have no choice but to see it.”
The most successful people aren’t the ones who waited for a green light. They’re the ones who created their own.
What Living Unapologetically Looks Like
It’s not about arrogance. It’s about alignment. Living unapologetically means refusing to waste your short time on earth chasing applause.
Instead:
  • Take bold action without waiting for the nod
  • Accept that some people won’t understand your vision, and that’s fine
  • Measure your worth by progress, not popularity
  • Surround yourself with people who fuel your fire, not those who pour water on it
Final Thoughts
At Success by Perseverance, we believe chasing your dreams isn’t about convincing everyone else they make sense. It’s about proving to yourself that they’re worth the fight.
I can look back at my own journey when leaving the military, breaking into IT, and starting Success by Perseverance, and see how much time I could have wasted worrying about approval. Some thought it was risky. Some thought it wouldn’t work. But here’s the reality: their doubts never paid my bills, built my business, or created my freedom. My persistence did.
So ask yourself:
Am I chasing my goals? Or am I chasing approval?
Because the applause doesn’t build your future. Your effort does.
Stop waiting. Stop explaining. Stop apologizing. Start building.
So, go after it. Unapologetically.
