How to Get a Full Scholarship for Your PhD (USA)
Here is the Step-by-Step Guide: How To Study for FREE in the USA (PhDs)
You only need a Bachelor's Degree in order to apply for a PhD in America. You do not need a Master's Degree. To get a fully funded PhD in America you need to do this:
1. Find programs that pay for everything. Many U.S. universities give PhD students full funding — this means tuition, health insurance, and a living stipend. I made a guide you can check here: https://stan.store/williamlebeau/p/how-to-study-for-free-in-usa-phds.
2. Apply directly on the university website. Unlike bachelor’s, PhDs don’t use Common App. Each program has its own portal. You’ll need transcripts, recommendation letters, CV, and a strong statement of purpose.
3. Understand the funding offer. If you are admitted, most PhDs guarantee 4–6 years of full support. Some require teaching or research assistantships, but you’re paid while studying.
4. Accept your offer and get your I-20. Once you accept, the school will send you an I-20 form.
5. Apply for your visa. With your I-20 and passport, you can apply for an F-1 student visa.
Also, I just created a new service because thousands of people were requesting it. If you’d like one-on-one help, you can book a session with me here: https://stan.store/williamlebeau/p/book-a-11-call-with-me-tbczwfr2. It’s 60 minutes of guidance on your applications and scholarships.
