Why You Should Make Your Queue Vision Videos Interactive
When I think about creating new income streams beyond ad revenue, what really excites me is using Roku’s interactive features to build deeper audience engagement. It’s not just about getting people to watch it’s about inviting them to interact, visit your website, and ideally become clients. That’s why I enjoy collaborating on this, because it’s all about connection and value.

Initially, when Karen and I talked about ad revenue, we focused on the CPM model, which is already strong. But I wanted to go a step further and make the content interactive with QR codes. Most people just drop a QR code linking to their site, which makes it about them but it should really be about the viewer. The goal is to create a frictionless way for people to connect, share their info, and receive genuine value in return.
As long as the mindset is “how can we give value to the audience,” you’re on the right track. QR codes are just the tool that makes it possible. People are comfortable scanning them now — they’re everywhere, from YouTube to late-night TV. Funny enough, I actually wrote an article about using QR codes back in 2012. I guess I was a bit ahead of the curve, but now the timing couldn’t be better.
