Key Outcomes
Chris and Carol Green led a monthly prayer gathering focused on spiritual preparedness during current global crises, emphasizing faith over fear and alignment with God's kingdom agenda. The session introduced a nightly protection prayer and reaffirmed seven biblical responses to perilous times, with the next online gathering scheduled for June 17th.
Core Teaching: Seven Responses to Perilous Times
- Worship: Surrendering self in God's presence and will, not just musical expression
- Count the cost and take up the cross: Paying whatever price required to follow Christ faithfully, like handing God a blank check
- Follow through: Obey what God is saying now, not worrying about the future
- Change your focus: Remember citizenship is in heaven; this life is temporary apprenticeship for eternity
- Move into alignment with your assignment: Work and plan in alignment with what God is doing, not personal ambitions
- Trust what God knows: God's path may not be a straight line but avoids hidden traps and prepares you for the destination
- Continue to give Him glory: God gets the credit regardless of recognition or outcomes
Nightly Protection Prayer Introduced
A comprehensive prayer covering protection during sleep was shared, addressing:
- Blood of Jesus over person, dwelling, family, possessions, and stewardship
- Angelic guard over home and business at every dimensional access point
- Reversal of curses, witchcraft, and demonic activity onto senders
- Apprehension of human spirits, fallen angels, and nefarious spirits by warrior angels
- Rendering powerless all mind-to-mind communication, dream manipulation, and psychic intrusion
- Declaration that all dreams are Holy Spirit-inspired and sleep will be sweet and uninterrupted
Ministry Updates and Strategy
Local Partnership Opportunity
A Harrisburg pastor specifically requested prophetic help for his church—the first such request in over 20 years of ministry there.
Ministry Positioning Shift
Chris and Carol are consolidating their online presence as a "stealth ministry" strategy:
- Pulling back ministry social media presence
- Focusing on Step Forward Life Institute community page
- Keeping business side (marriage coaching, mental health, music) publicly visible
- Operating with more freedom behind the scenes working directly with families
Ministry Milestones
The Greens recently celebrated their 35th anniversary in ordained ministry (ordained May 25, 1991). A prophetic word spoken over them in 1991 declared they were called as "healers of broken lives" with "music in every atom of your being"—fulfilled through 20 books and over 150 songs on 10 audio songbooks.
Biblical Foundation: 1 Peter 4:7
"The end of all things is at hand, therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers." Believers are called to cover homes in prayer, apply the blood of Jesus spiritually over doorways, and respond in faith not fear to current events.
Operating Mindset: Acts 20:24
Paul's declaration guides their approach: "I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may with joy finish my course in the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus."
Teaching on Freedom and Purpose
True Freedom Defined
Freedom is not the ability to do what you want, but the ability to be who and what God created you to be. Many fight for opportunities and rights because this world is all they have, not understanding eternal life.
The Path and Process
God's path to goals is rarely a straight line (shortest distance between two points). He leads around hidden traps, landmines, and pitfalls while developing character. 15 The issue is not just reaching the goal but who you will be when you arrive.
Personal Ministry Example
The Greens came to Harrisburg expecting to pastor a church but were redirected into life coaching, mental health coaching, and marriage coaching. They are now known primarily as community partners and coaches, fulfilling God's call to "reach the missus" and "bring healing to hearts and homes" through a different path.
Intercessory Prayer Focus
Prayers offered for all in authority as mandated in 1 Timothy 2:1-3, regardless of political affiliation:
- President, Vice President, governors, senators, representatives, mayors, city councils
- Civil servants: law enforcement, fire, EMT, government workers (federal, state, local)
- Judicial system: judges, prosecutors, attorneys
- Corrections and prison systems: inmates to wardens
- Educators: teachers, principals, superintendents, parents
- Human/social services: counselors, therapists, social workers
- Health/medical field: doctors, nurses, administrators
The Scripture was written to people with no choice in their leaders, many of whom hated Christians, yet the mandate was to pray and give thanks for them.
Meeting Structure Going Forward
- First Wednesday of each month: Online gathering with teaching and corporate prayer (next: June 17th)
- Second and Fourth Wednesdays: Meet in homes with family/friends or pray individually
- Future training will be offered on conducting home prayer meetings and Bible studies
Holy Communion
The gathering concluded with corporate communion, reciting 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 and partaking together.
