Something to think about as a Christian
Why is it that I’ve been a Christian & in the church the majority of my life & never once have I heard a sermon on gluttony? (Until Pastor Aaron)
I feel like overall many churches & really Christians/believers are talking very very little about how spiritual disciplines carry over into health habits & how intertwined they are.
I don’t feel it’s shared enough that over indulgence, gluttony, sugar & food addition, self image issues, chronic illness, it’s not just a health issue of the body it’s a spiritual war.
The enemy thrives in our food & fitness industry & it’s one of his sneaky disgusting ways of crushing spirits, weakening bodies, & instilling poor relationship with Gods creation: the temples He’s given us to house His spirit.
Why are we not talking about this more?
Why is health & fitness considered such a vain thing in the church when literally the body houses the Holy Spirit & idk about you but I believe my Father deserves a healthy strong dwelling place to live.
I may be crazy.
I may sound stupid.
But I know the enemy is not; he knows what he’s doing.
he’s killing off more bodies, more confidence, more strength, and more spirits than yall realize and he’s doing it through food. Food & lack of movement.
It’s time to wake up.
I’ll be the crazy one.
But I’ll also be the one who helps my brothers & sisters in Christ beat this spiritual battle of gluttony, lack of discipline, self loathing, sloth like behavior, and hating one of the most beautiful creations God has given us; our bodies.
Wake up. Call the enemy out. he no longer gets to have this kind of power over not just your body but your spirit!
