Order
ACTION STEPS & NOTES
🚨 Without ORDER, chaos reigns. Most men are struggling, not because they aren’t working hard, but because they are working hard in the wrong order. Priorities determine everything—your peace, your leadership, your influence, and ultimately, your legacy.
Here’s the biblical, masculine order God designed for men to thrive:
1️⃣ GOD FIRST—Your Foundation & Source
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
💡 The verses before this talk about stress and anxiety—Jesus calls it “little faith.”
💡 The verse after says: “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” (Matthew 6:34)
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)
💡 Mark 12:30 sets the standard for this:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
✔ Heart → Your desires, emotions, and intentions are submitted to God.
✔ Soul → Your identity is rooted in Christ, not success, approval, or external validation.
✔ Mind → Your thoughts are shaped by the Word, not the world.
✔ Strength → Your actions reflect obedience, discipline, and service to God.
🚨 What does it actually mean to put God first?
✔ In your decisions → Do you pray before making big moves, or do you just make them and ask God to bless them after?
✔ In your finances → Do you tithe, give, and steward your money wisely, or do you spend on impulse and stress about what’s left?
✔ In your business → Do you run your business in a way that honors God, or do you compromise integrity for profit?
✔ In your time → Do you prioritize time with God daily, or does He get whatever’s left over after work, kids, and distractions?
🔥 ACTION: The 9 Non-Negotiables → Prayer, Bible, community, tithe, fast, solitude, Sabbath, witness, service.
🚨 If God is not first, everything else will eventually collapse.
✔ If God isn’t first, nothing else will work. Period.
✔ You don’t lead from your own strength—you lead from His strength.
2️⃣ SELF SECOND—Your Discipline & Leadership
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)
🚨 Here’s where most men mess up:
✔ Some put themselves first, becoming self-centered and neglecting their family.
✔ Some put themselves last, pouring out until they’re empty, bitter, and burnt out.
🚨 Neither works.
✔ You cannot pour from an empty cup.
✔ Self-care is not selfish—it’s stewardship.
✔ A weak, undisciplined man cannot lead.
✔ If you’re burnt out, out of shape, and mentally checked out, your family suffers.
✔ Your mind, body, and spirit need to be strong and sharp.
💡 The biblical way to put yourself second is about discipline, not selfishness.
✔ Spiritual discipline → Daily habits from the 9 list.
✔ Physical discipline → Taking care of your health, fitness, and energy levels.
✔ Mental discipline → Learning, growing, and guarding what you consume.
🔥 ACTION: Self-mastery—lead yourself before leading others.
3️⃣ MARRIAGE THIRD—Your Covenant & Leadership
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.” (Ephesians 5:25)
✔ A thriving marriage creates a thriving home. A weak marriage creates confusion, stress, and brokenness.
✔ If your wife feels unseen, unheard, or unled, your entire household will suffer.
✔ Love her. Pursue her. Lead her. She is your biggest earthly responsibility.
🚨 Your wife comes before your kids. Period.
✔ A weak marriage creates a weak home.
✔ A disconnected husband creates a resentful wife.
✔ A distracted man creates an emotionally starved woman.
🔥 ACTION: Daily intentional connection → Prayer together, quality time, date nights, vulnerable deep conversations, non-sexual affection.
4️⃣ KIDS FOURTH—Your Legacy & Responsibility
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
✔ Your kids don’t need a best friend—they need a father.
✔ If they outrank your wife, you’ve failed.
✔ Kids thrive in homes where dad and mom are unified and dad leads with strength and love.
✔ The greatest gift you can give your children is a healthy, God-centered marriage.
🚨 Where men get it wrong:
✔ They make their kids their #1 priority. This sounds good, but it backfires.
✔ When kids outrank your marriage, they grow up thinking the world revolves around them—which makes them needy and selfish.
✔ When kids see dad worship work or sports but neglect God, they copy that.
💡 How to lead your kids the right way:
✔ Be their father, not their best friend. Teach discipline, structure, and accountability.
✔ Teach by example, not just words. Your actions show them what’s important.
✔ Prioritize family unity over busyness.
🔥 ACTION: You set the boundaries, not the kids or their schedules. Our goal is to create disciples who are disciple makers, not all-star baseball players.
5️⃣ BUSINESS FIFTH—Your Mission & Impact
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3)
✔ Work is important, but it’s not your identity.
✔ Too many men chase success and lose their family in the process.
✔ If you put business before God, your wife, or your kids, you will eventually lose all three.
✔ Success means nothing if you have no one to share it with.
🔥 ACTION: Work hard, work with Kingdom purpose. Set boundaries. Never bring work home.
🚨 How This Plays Out in Real Life
✔ If God is last, you’re running on empty.
✔ If you neglect yourself, you’ll burn out.
✔ If your marriage is an afterthought, your wife will resent you.
✔ If your kids run the house, they will grow up entitled and unprepared.
✔ If business is your only identity, you will feel lost without it.
🚨 When you put these in the right order, here’s what happens:
✔ You operate from faith, not stress.
✔ You lead from strength, not burnout.
✔ Your marriage thrives instead of just surviving.
✔ Your kids grow up with security, not confusion.
✔ You build wealth and success without losing your soul.
🔥 Order is the difference between a house built on rock and a house built on sand. What are you building?
