🇲🇽 Present Subjunctive — What It Is & When to Use It
You use it when things are uncertain, emotional, or not yet real.
Here are the 4 main triggers:
1. 😍 Wishes & wants Quiero que + subjunctive
👉 "Quiero que vengas a la fiesta." (I want you to come to the party.)
2. 😢 Emotions Me alegra / Es una lástima que + subjunctive
👉 "Me alegra que estés aprendiendo español." (I'm glad you're learning Spanish.)
3. 💡 Recommendations Es importante / Te recomiendo que + subjunctive
👉 "Es importante que practiques todos los días." (It's important that you practice every day.)
4. 🤔 Doubt & denial No creo / Dudo que + subjunctive
👉 "No creo que sea tan difícil." (I don't think it's that hard.)
💡 The formula: Trigger phrase + QUE + subjunctive verb Two different subjects = subjunctive.
