Hey guys I wanted to try something new and see if you all like it.
Every week the community will face a boss together.
Unlike Dark Souls, we won't beat it by using swords or magic or anything like that, but instead, we'll beat it with our real life actions.
CHOOSE YOUR BUILD
Anyone who wants to participate, I want you to select AT LEAST 5 HABITS (or more) that you want to be consistent with.
You don't need to copy me, but for me, my selected habits are:
- Meditate
- Gratitude Journal
- Exercise
- Eat The Frog
- Stretch
Every habit you successfully complete each day will count as 1 point of damage toward the boss.
Every small win = damage.
To make it easier to track your own individual damage, I would recommend writing down these exact same habits you've chosen for yourself on a habit tracker and put it on your wall, like in the first image attached.
There will be a separate discussion category called "Daily Bonfire", and this is where you'll log your progress.
Example: Day 2
✔ Workout
✔ Studied
✔ No porn
✘ Reading
✘ Learning
3 damage for that day.
It's important that you don't just do this habit tracker on your own without checking in with the community, because the act of putting it here keeps you more accountable, which will help you reach your goals faster.
And don't lie to yourself and check off one of the habits even if you didn't do it.
If you can do the bare minimum for any of the habits, you can check it off and count it as 1 damage, but you actually have to do the bare minimum.
For example: You have exercise as one of your habits. If you can just do 1 push up, then you're allowed to check it off, but you actually need to do the 1 push up.
I'm trusting you guys to be honest.
We'll slowly chip away at the boss health bar until we beat it together.
Every habit we complete lowers its health.
Most self-improvement spaces are just people talking about improving.
I want this place to be different.
This place is for people who are actually doing the work.
Even if it's small or you fail some days.
Just don’t you dare go hollow.
On the SUNDAY of every week, we'll count the totals of everyone's damage done for the week.
Keep track of your daily and weekly damage easily through the use of a habit tracker (see image attached) or any means you would prefer.
Please post your weekly total in the "Weekly Damage" section of the discussion board, that way the total boss health can be calculated more easily, and I don't have to sift through everyone's daily posts and count them up manually.
Your post in "Weekly Damage" should look something like this:
Week 1 Damage Report
Workout: 4
Reading: 5
Career work: 6
No porn: 7
Learning: 3
Total Damage: 25
I will also be participating in this both daily and weekly, because I think it's important to be consistent and also to stay accountable through other people.
I'll make my daily post either at the end of the day OR if I already complete all of my habits for the day.
