I used to think I was being smart.

Researching. Planning. Making sure the timing was right.

I could keep telling myself I was on the way to something.

A friend.

A parent.

A sign.

Anyone.

That permission never came. Nobody hands it to you.

The day my life shifted was the day I stopped looking for it.

I picked a vehicle that already worked.

I stopped researching.

I committed before I felt ready, because I finally understood I was never going to feel ready.

This is our Tuesday now.

We didn't get here because we found the perfect plan.

We got here because we stopped negotiating with the version of us that was scared.
