Do you feel like your standing at a stand still?
Took this on my walk in Fredericksburg this morning.
Watching the sun come up through these oaks taught me something about Spirit that took me 59 years to learn:
The light doesn't hit everything at once.
First, just the tops of the tallest trees glow. Then it slowly, slowly makes its way down the branches. The ground is the last to get warm.
For years I thought spiritual growth meant a lightning-bolt moment. Total clarity. Instant peace. All at once.
But Spirit works like a Hill Country sunrise.
It illuminates the highest parts of you first — your intuition, your hopes. Then it works its way down into the messy, everyday branches. And the ground you stand on, your real life? That’s often the last thing to shift.
So if you’re in a season where it feels like “nothing’s happening”… check the treetops.
Journal prompt for you: Where in your life is the light already touching, even if the ground still feels dark?
I’d love to hear what comes up for you below
