The motto, "Community Before Content" was a famous mantra in my early years as an undergraduate psychology and world religions classroom instructor (it means that before anyone is impressed with your knowledge or expertise, their main concern is that you care---and that they "belong"). Soul Encounters Octave Introductory Series: These articles and blogs (posted also at soul-encounters.org ) offer a brief (5-10 minute) non-technical introduction to each of the eight practices-- 1) Blakes Poetics, 2) Psalmody, 3) Historical Wisdom, 4) Archetypes/Strengths, 5) Active Imagination, 6) Buddhist Integration, 7) Music/Lyric Therapy, and 8) Reflective Journaling.
