I didn’t get into taxes because I grew up wanting to be in the financial world I got into taxes because I was a young mom, fresh out of high school, with real bills, real responsibility, and a son who was depending on me. I didn’t have time to “figure life out” I needed income, options, and stability right now, not someday.
I started at the bottom not as a tax preparer, not as a leader, not as a business owner but as a receptionist in a tax office. And even from the front desk, something in me knew I wanted more. I found myself enjoying the tax industry way more than I expected, and little by little, curiosity turned into confidence.
But here’s the part people don’t talk about:I didn’t get real training.People around me weren’t teaching they were protecting their spot.I saw gatekeeping, rushing, unprofessionalism, and money over integrity. it felt like no one wanted you to grow, unless you stayed beneath them.
