I own the rights to MY path, NOT yours
The psych ward recommended that I go to NA, AA, church, counseling (just to name a few) to quit taking the drugs that I hated to love, but loved to hate. Just sit & listen to their stories.🙄 Majority of people that have TRULY worked the steps will go through an awakening, they said.🫣 Choose this orange flavored pill and your life will slowly get better.😳 Learn to take the advice of a stranger that you just met 60 minutes ago. 🤯
24 hours sober, still feeling like I’m in a drug induced haze, the sound of those words, those ‘sentences’, echoed in my foggy brain. Are they being for real? This is really professional advice written on a prescription, with my name on it??? This can’t be real, I least still be in a drug psychosis! LOL Who do I believe & why are these my only options from real-life doctors?
My name is Terri & my drug-free date is July 28, 2016. 9 years, 3 months, 5 days. 3,384 days. 81,479 hours. I wanna know what was going through your head when you were first told how to get sober because group meetings, 7 days a week, multiple times a day sounded ridiculous to me. I wanna talk about your last memories before you quit getting high/drinking, your first thoughts when the drugs left your system and what you’ve learned along the way. I want the REAL, UNHINGED thoughts about YOUR journey. I didn’t follow the groups or drink the kool-aid, I’ve created my own path filled with rocks, mud puddles, fallen trees, beautiful creeks, bridges & unplanned loops back towards the beginning. In this community, I’m gonna share MY sober journey & I promise you, we won’t agree on everything but we will inspire each other to ACCEPT, GROW & LOVE. This is sober MY way, NOT yours! 🥰
