Skool by Sam Ovens – Member Review
This is my community & platform review of Skoolers & Skool by Sam Ovens.
“It has given me community, friendships, income, and a completely different level of confidence than when I first started.”
When I first joined, it was called Skool Community. It was Sam’s space. It was the place to be. My friends were there, owners were there, and it felt like a fun, inside space where people building on Skool could connect. It wasn’t about self-promotion. It was about conversations, ideas, building better communities, and honestly just enjoying being there.
Over time, the platform evolved in big ways.
There was a season where Skool leaned heavily into competition and revenue. The Games, Season of Madness, the big prizes… the energy shifted toward money and performance. You could feel it. More people were joining because of the financial opportunity, and the culture started leaning more into hustle and marketing hype.
What stood out to me was what happened next.
Leadership recognized that the direction needed adjusting. The communities merged. Moderation increased. Guidelines became clearer. And the platform pivoted.
That moment taught me a lot about leadership. It showed me that it is okay to admit something is not working and course correct for the long-term vision. That shift moved the focus back to what actually matters… building real communities.
Since then, the platform has become more community-centric. It feels less about who is making the most money and more about who is building meaningful spaces. Hobby communities. Support-based communities. Relationship-driven communities. Spaces where people feel seen and heard.
The evolution has been beautiful to watch.
For me personally, being part of this ecosystem has changed everything. I have met people who feel like lifelong friends. I have helped owners who could not afford to hire support but just needed guidance. I have learned how the platform works by watching other builders experiment and share what is working.
My confidence has grown. My income has expanded. My identity has shifted.
I think bigger now. I communicate better. I see patterns across communities instead of just focusing on one small problem. Reading other owners’ experiences has expanded my thinking in ways that are hard to describe.
It truly feels like a community within a community.
Before joining, you should know this is not a place for self-promotion. It is owner to owner. Peer to peer. You share wins. You share what is working. You ask real questions. And you need a good sense of humor. There are inside jokes. There is culture. If you are easily offended, you will miss the joy of it.
What keeps me here is the mission.
𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮.
In a world that feels increasingly polarized, having a platform built around belonging matters. When people feel seen, heard, and connected, that changes things. That is bigger than money. That is impact.
And that is why I am still here.
