🌻 discipline - helps moving forward, always positive & grounded
Hi all, I'd like to share how & why I disciplined myself into being disciplined :) First, I'd like you to know, that naturally I am the most undisciplined person I know... And I know a lot of people lol... But some time ago, I realized that, in order to become the person I prefer to be, I need that one dialed in. And other things too! Such as responsibility, self integrity and commitment... supporting my highest values of joy, growth & contribution. I started small and slow - cold showers & breath work (Wim Hof) and daily routines. Even when touring - routines are kept (very important! Cuz it keeps me grounded). That does require a solid amount of discipline as the easiest thing is to ditch your routines when traveling. Nowadays - I get up at 4 am every single day, go over my mourning practices (usually takes 1.5-2 hours) which include yoga, meditation, tai-chi, breath work, affirmations and going over my long term goals. I do this 3 times a day but the morning one is more extensive. After morning routine - coffee and then screens. In the afternoon I do 3 hours of hiking (sometimes replaced with mountain biking when the weather is favorable) with my dogs - quality time spent together with the family. This only doesn't happen when I am on tour. On Mondays I pre badge a bunch of home made cooked by me yummies for the week and always a huge bowl of Ro salad that lasts the entire week. I am sure to have in this salad all vitamins and nutrients possible. It varies but here is a sample - spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, any fruits and always oranges, nuts, feta cheese, olive oil, black pepper, lemon juice and sea salt. Always present in my day is making music and playing music - I grew up as a concert pianist and taught myself how to play all kinds of instruments and continue to this day learning more (currently practicing circular breathing for my didgeridoos), I also produce music and DJ. Always present in my day is learning a new language - until I know it - and then pick up the next... I know 6 languages and currently learning Spanish and am on a 900 day streak :)
