I’m going to be travelling back to the UK soon, and one of the lovely things about going home is getting to see friends I’ve known since I was a child. I was thinking about one of them the other day and suddenly remembered us playing marbles in her back garden. I absolutely loved them. All the different colours, sizes and patterns, the cloudy ones, the clear ones, the ones that felt special for no obvious reason. 😂 I had quite the collection. It’s funny what we used to collect, invent or become completely obsessed with when we were little. What did you invent, collect or make up constantly as a child?

Have you ever kept a gratitude journal, even for a little while? I’m actually starting work on writing a LOVECORE-style gratitude journal, where gratitude lives in different parts of you and that’s where you write from. I’m really excited about putting it together, and I think part of that is because I’ll get to deepen my own gratitude practice while I’m writing it too. I’ve kept gratitude journals before, but I’m interested in going a bit further with this one and looking at all the different places gratitude can come from. Have you ever kept one? And did you enjoy it, or did it quietly disappear after a few weeks like so many journals do? 😄

Today in Write Space we were looking at childhood memories, the things we remember and the little pieces of ourselves we seem to bring with us into adulthood. One of the memories that really stood out for me was how much I loved the rain as a child. I was either outside jumping around in puddles and getting absolutely soaked, or curled up somewhere warm by the fire, sucking my thumb while the rain fell from the heavens outside. 😂 Funny how some things stay with us. I still love the rain now, especially when I’m somewhere cosy and can hear it outside. So today’s Silver Thread got me wondering... What kind of weather do you secretly enjoy more than most people seem to? 🌧️☀️🌬️

I’m on the move again soon, and it’s amazing how many little bits we accumulate just to make a space feel like home. When we arrived here, we brought in some greenery, a few plants and faux flowers, some wee candles and picture frames, and it was surprising how much those small touches changed the place. It stopped feeling like somewhere we were staying and started to feel a little more like ours. Now I’m going through everything again and finding new homes for the things that aren’t coming with us, which got me thinking about the tiny things we use to create that feeling of home. What is one small thing that makes home feel like home to you?

My first entry
Who am I? What am I? Am I the product of the love my parents had for each other? The childhood that helped me to grow? The school years that shaped my mind? My adult life that shaped my emotions? The ups and downs, loves and losses that I have passed through? Who am I? What am I? I am the product of every emotion and experience I have had and will have.
