Hi Clayton Bates here from Sydney Australia.
I've been using Shopify for over 10 years now. 5 years as a store owner selling Sports Trading Cards and the last 6 years running "Inspire Small Business" as an agency owner.
A lot of people don't know that I sold over a million dollars of Trading Cards back in the day. Mostly as a side business to my job at the time. Still to this day I sometimes think how crazy it is that so much money is spent on cardboard cards every year.
Back in 2019 Shopify made me a registered and authenticated Shopify Expert, one of only a few in Australia. If you told me 10 years ago that Shopify would make me an expert in the platform I would have thought you were crazy. "Pretty much anything is possible when you put your mind to it. What are you going to put your mind to?"
Since starting my agency the websites we have built or redesigned have generated tens of millions in extra revenue for our clients and over a 100 million dollars has been processed through the websites we have built/redesigned. Sometimes it's strange to think the work myself and the team have done for others has generated 100 times the revenue I made for myself selling cards. Pretty rewarding experience also.
I joined this group to give back and share some tips and suggestions I've learnt over the last 10 years. I did something similar back in 2019 and one of the bosses at Shopify directly emailed me to thank me for all the free value I had been giving the community. I thought that was pretty cool at the time. Since then we have done 2,000+ free video audits of peoples websites giving them tips and suggestions to improve conversions. Something I personally love doing.
I truly believe if you give free value and expect nothing in return it will come back to you, maybe not today, tomorrow or a year from now but if you keep putting good things into the world good things will be coming your way.
