God calls you before you’re qualified. Isaiah saw God’s holiness and felt completely undone—“I am ruined, a man with filthy lips.” But God didn’t wait for Isaiah to clean himself up. He sent a seraphim with a burning coal to cleanse his lips, then immediately asked, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah’s response? “Here I am. Send me.” Jeremiah tried the excuse route—“I’m too young, I can’t speak”—but God wasn’t having it. “Don’t say you’re too young. I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. I’m putting my words in your mouth.” Your past, your age, your education, your trauma—none of it disqualifies you from God’s call. He knew every day of your life before you lived a single one, and He’s calling you anyway.
Where is God calling you today that you’ve been making excuses?
