MLT Software Beta Feedback & Workflow Update
Hey everyone, just wanted to share an update on my process using the three MLT tools and provide some feedback as I go through the beta testing phase.
My Workflow:
1️⃣ MLT Duplicate – I run this first to eliminate duplicate tracks before making any metadata or organizational changes. This ensures I’m working with a clean and unique set of files.
2️⃣ MLT Years and Genres – Once duplicates are removed, I use this to populate missing metadata (years and genres). This step ensures all my files have accurate and complete metadata before moving on to organization.
3️⃣ MLT Organize – After metadata is in place, I run this to neatly structure my library into folders, giving me a clean and organized starting point.
Current Findings & Feedback: (MLT Years and Genres)
🔹 The best results come when I clear all existing dates and genres before running the software. However, I consistently notice that 1 or 2 tracks per folder might be missing metadata. To work around this, I run the software multiple times (once for year, once for genre) to catch any missing data.
🔹 If the software can’t find metadata for a track, I manually look it up and edit the data myself. This ensures every song is accounted for.
🔹 Running each folder individually seems to yield better results compared to running everything in bulk. This helps me quickly identify any tracks that need manual customization.
Let me know if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or has other tips to optimize this process! Looking forward to further refinements in the beta versions.
