🛠️ STEP 1: TRAINING CHATGPT FOR TOPICAL MAPS
Initial Prompt Setup:
Ask ChatGPT to imagine you have a website and you want to establish it as an authority on your chosen topic.
Example: "Imagine you have a website about birds. To establish authority, create a topical map. The goal is to structure the content in an easy-to-understand way."
Prompt: "Imagine you have a website about [Your Niche]. To establish authority, create a topical map. Structure the content in an easy-to-understand way."
Generate the Initial Map:
Use the above prompt in ChatGPT to get the initial layout.
ChatGPT will provide a basic structure of your topical map.
📋 STEP 2: CREATING A DETAILED TOPICAL MAP
Detailed Map Prompt:
Use a more detailed prompt to refine the map.
Prompt: "Now create a very actionable, semantically optimized SEO topical map for [Your Niche]."
Example: "Now create a very actionable, semantically optimized SEO topical map for the bird-watching niche."
🕵️ STEP 3: USING COMPETITOR DATA
Chrome Extension: Sitemap Explorer:
Navigate to a competitor's website using the Sitemap Explorer Chrome extension.
Export their sitemap to a CSV and upload it to a Google Sheet.
Organize Competitor Data:
Copy URLs from the sitemap and paste them into ChatGPT in batches (e.g., 400 URLs at a time).
Prompt: "Organize these URLs into a semantically optimized topical map."
Navigate to the competitor’s sitemap with Harper.AI. Use the extension to generate a topical map from the URLs on the page.
Prompt: "Harper, give me a semantically optimized topical map based on the URLs in the page."
🗺️ STEP 5: VISUALIZATION WITH SHOW ME DIAGRAMS
Enable Plugins in ChatGPT:
Make sure you have the paid version of ChatGPT and enable plugins.
Use Show Me Diagrams Plugin:
Train ChatGPT with the initial prompt as in Step 1.
Prompt: "Create a very actionable, semantically optimized SEO topical map for the bird niche and create a diagram with the plugin that shows me how to arrange my topical map."
Adjust and Visualize:
Use the generated diagram to visualize and adjust your topical map as needed.
