Free promo, categories, KDP7

1 - Is it still beneficial to run free promos? I know that a long time ago it used to help your books rank but now I don't think it does. I wonder if it's just better to drop the price of your book to .99 cents to promote? Running a free promo also makes me leery of people stealing the content. The only reason I would run a free promo is to get reviews.

2 - How many categories are we allowed to choose?

3 - Can you share how you fill in the seven keyword boxes (KDP7)? Do you use all 50 characters per box?

I think this is the latest guide to fill out these boxes but I'm not totally sure - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vinXgGNxEzk Is this the method you use? If not, is there a guide somewhere in this group on how to fill out KDP7?
