The old SAM.gov phone number 866-606-8220 has been officially disconnected — it no longer exists and is no longer listed on their website. Here is what to do instead:
1. Email DLA directly at cage@dla.mil — this is the Defense Logistics Agency who actually assigns CAGE codes, not GSA. Include your company name, UEI number, and ask for a status update.
2. Log into your SAM.gov account and use the Live Chat at fsd.gov — Monday through Friday 8am to 8pm Eastern. Select SAM.gov and CAGE code as your issue category.
3. Submit a ticket at fsd.gov if chat is unavailable — you get a case number to track your request.
4. Check your SAM.gov entity status at sam.gov/content/status-tracker using your UEI number — this sometimes shows where you are in the process without having to contact anyone.
The 90-day window is real right now but emailing DLA directly at cage@dla.mil tends to get faster responses than going through FSD. Do both at the same time and reference your UEI number in every communication.
