🚨 Visual Hooks: The Lesson I Just Learned (The Hard Way)
Just posted what might be my best-performing Scroll Science short yet.
âś… The audio hook was solid.
âś… The script hit belief, pacing, and structure.
âś… YouTube Shorts is eating it up (2.9k views, multiple subs).
But…
❌ I screwed up the visual hook.
I placed a tampon box in the freezer to trigger schema disruption, but on TikTok and YouTube Shorts…
đź‘€ No one could even see it. (I posted exactly my problem. Didn't even realize it until I went back to rewatch my video on platform. To rewatch like a stranger)
The visual punchline was hidden behind the in-app buttons.
So here's what I did next:
🔧 I built three overlay templates one for TikTok, one for YouTube Shorts, and one for Instagram Reels. They show the danger zones that get covered by buttons or captions.
The green area is ok.
The yellow area should use with caution.
  • YouTube you can only kinda see it because this is where the title goes.
  • TikTok this are gets covered by comments
Red are are no go areas
You’ll find them attached below. Feel fr
ee to steal ’em.
