Felt a higher level of uncertainty this week than last week in cutting live. Damo discussed the idea that if you aren’t confident in yourself then you’re unconfident in your system. This is where that uncertainty stemmed from. I wasn’t confident in my system and kept second guessing myself. I had mental blanks a few times during the haircut but asking for guidance allowed me to get in a flow placing me in the right direction. Doing my best and putting my all into the cut, knowing that it won’t be perfect but just having fun with it.
Negatives
- dark spots
- refine on techniques
- Don’t shear hair. Point cut to get rid of thickness in hair instead
- Trust my system
Positives
- understood how hair flows and cutting in the direction of natural growth
- Cutting with purpose not for sake of cutting
- Using guideline throughout whole haircut
