Dermaplaning blades
At Salon Setup, we take a clinical, results-driven approach to dermaplaning training — and that starts with using the right tools for the job.
Unlike many training providers, we do not teach with a #10 surgical blade.
While commonly used in some courses, the #10 blade is not designed for precision epidermal exfoliation. Its broader, curved edge was created for surgical use, not for the controlled, refined technique required in professional dermaplaning.
This can compromise both treatment accuracy and client safety, especially in delicate facial zones.
Instead, we train our students using blades specifically suited to dermaplaning, allowing for:
  • Greater precision and control
  • Safer navigation around contours and high-risk areas
  • More consistent, refined exfoliation results
  • Improved clinical confidence from day one
This is part of our commitment to evidence-based training — not trends, not shortcuts, and not outdated techniques.
At Salon Setup, we don’t just teach you how to perform a treatment. We teach you how to think like a clinician, make informed decisions, and deliver results your clients can trust.
