I noticed a lot of you are ultra-runners, and for that, you have my deepest admiration! I am looking at doing a 50k and a 50mi in the next 12 months, to celebrate my 50th birthday :). But I noticed that ultras are of two types - loops, where you run the same loop many, many times over, and routes, which are more out and back, or start and finish in different places.
For all you experienced ultra runners - what are the pros and cons of each and which do you prefer?
