WHAT YOU FEED, GROWS.
For some reason we blame the world for our circumstances sometimes and the thought may begin quietly.
They are gossiping about me
They say I am not capable
They say I will not be able to cope
Something bad is going to happen.
They say I am on the wrong path
What if what they say is true ?
But what happens when you return to that thought again… and again… and again?
Unmanaged, fear-based thinking can keep the body in a state of toxic stress. Prolonged unmanaged stress is affecting sleep, digestion and mental wellbeing, and contributing to patterns associated with anxiety and depression.
And research supports an important part of this: rumination and repetitive negative thinking can magnify and prolong negative mood and maintain the body’s stress response.
This is why Scripture says:
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7
That is why today I want you to look again at the tree.
Healthy thoughts: truth, hope, gratitude, perspective, possibility.
Toxic thoughts: fear, worry, offence, comparison, self-criticism, hopelessness.
Which side have you been feeding most
Renewal begins when we become aware of what has been taking root
What you repeatedly feed has an opportunity to grow. We will discuss more in the Inner boardroom
